Baltimore Police issued a summons for Sanders to appear in court in February to face one charge of sexual conduct without consent. The incident for which Sanders is being charged allegedly occurred on Dec. 14, 2014, according to the police record.

The charge is punishable by a maximum of a year in jail or a fine of $1,000, or both, according to the state's penal code.

Sanders' summons comes just as the Ray Rice saga with the NFL and the Ravens sunsets. The Ravens cut Rice after TMZ released surveillance video of him beating his then-fianceé Janay Palmer in an elevator.

Sanders was in charge of the Ravens' investigation into the incident, which took months to complete.

Rice and Palmer have since married.

The Ravens will play against the Steelers in the first round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday.

He will make $8 million per season with the Wolverines, versus the $5 million per season contract he was under with the San Francisco 49ers.

Last night, after the last game of the NFL regular season, the 49ers announced they had parted ways with Harbaugh, calling it a mutual decision.

Harbaugh coached the 49ers for four immensely successful seasons. Prior to the NFL, Harbaugh coached at Stanford and the University of San Diego.

Here Are The Four NFL Coaches Who Got Fired On "Black Monday"

The day after the last game of the NFL regular season has certainly earned its nickname.

The NFL regular season concluded Sunday with 12 teams advancing to the playoffs and 20 teams beginning their offseason. The day after the regular season ends is known as "Black Monday," due to the usual mass firing of head coaches who have not proven themselves worthy of the role, the glory, and/or the money. This year's exodus offered no surprises; these personnel changes were all obvious by Thanksgiving. Here are the four coaches who will start the 2015 season in a new job, and one who will hang on to his position for at least one more year.

Rex Ryan – New York Jets

Rex Ryan – New York Jets

The Jets announced early Monday morning that head coach Rex Ryan had been fired after six seasons with the team. General Manager John Idzik was fired as well. The Jets appear to be clearing house in hopes of shaking up a storied franchise which has largely become a joke around the league.

The Jets went 4–12 this season, with only one of those wins against a team with a winning record (the Steelers). Under Rex Ryan, the Jets went 46–50 with playoff appearances his first two years.

Rex Ryan is one of the more appealing NFL coaches available to other teams. He has a long history of various positions of defensive coaching. The Jets, and their talent pool, hardly set up Ryan for success in New York.

The Jets will pick sixth in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Adam Hunger/Usa Today Sports

Marc Trestman – Chicago Bears

Marc Trestman – Chicago Bears

After just two seasons with the Bears, Head Coach Marc Trestman has been fired. He did not post a winning season (8-8; 5-11) and the team missed the playoffs both years. The Bears lost their last five games of the season, with the back-to-back wins coming against the Vikings and the Buccaneers. Like the Jets, all of the Bears' wins came against sub-.500 teams.

General Manager Phil Emery was also fired today.

Along with a coach and front office change, the Bears will have to decide how to get their team to playoff contention behind quarterback Jay Cutler, who signed an enormous seven-year contract earlier this season.

Mike Dinovo/Usa Today Sports

Mike Smith – Atlanta Falcons

Mike Smith – Atlanta Falcons

As expected, the Falcons fired Mike Smith today after seven seasons with the team. Under his tenure, Falcons teams went 66-46 with four playoff appearances. In 2012, the Falcons went 13-3 and lost to the 49ers in the NFC Championship. They went 4-12 the next season, and 6-10 this season, though that was nearly good enough for a playoff appearance thanks to the ultra-weak NFC South.

Atlanta will pick 8th in the 2015 NFL draft. Quarterback Matt Ryan had a fair season that was consistent with his previous six seasons. The Falcons have an immensely talented roster, and it's obvious that a coaching change could quickly bring them back to success.

Florida State Quarterback Jameis Winston Wins Personal Conduct Hearing

The 20-year-old will not be disciplined by Florida State for sexual assault accusations.

Jeremy Brevard/Usa Today Sports

Florida State Quarterback Jameis Winston has won his personal conduct hearing with the university and will not face discipline from the school for allegations of a sexual assault that was said to have taken place in 2012.

In 2012, a Florida State student filed a report with the Tallahassee Police Department, accusing Winston of sexual assault. There were no charges brought against Winston at the time. In early 2013, the State Attorney began an investigation into the allegations, but again, no charges were brought. However, the New York Times did its own investigation into the handling of the allegations and published a detailed explanation of errors made by the investigators.

Eventually, Winston was required to attend a hearing to determine if he had violated Florida State's personal conduct code. The hearing was originally scheduled for November 2014, but was pushed back at the request of Winston's attorney to December 2014, just under two years after the alleged sexual assault took place and the alleged victim filed her report.

Former Florida State Supreme Court Justice Major B. Harding presided over the Dec. 2nd hearing. He reportedly did not rule on whether Winston or the alleged victim were more credible, but determined there was not enough evidence to punish Winston under school code.

The alleged victim can still take her case to a court of law, but the FSU personal conduct ruling would negatively impact chances of a conviction in a case that already lacks a considerable amount of evidence.

Jameis Winston's full statement was published the day after the hearing took place. He said he had sexual relations with the woman, but described them as fully consensual.

Winston was the winner of the 2013 Heisman Trophy, and won MVP after he led his team to a 34–31 win over Auburn in the 2013 BCS National Championship. Florida State is undefeated this season.

FIFA Agrees To Publish World Cup Corruption Report Findings

Executives for football’s world governing body said Friday they would publish a “legally appropriate version” of an American lawyer’s investigation into World Cup corruption.

After a FIFA meeting in Marrakech, Morocco Friday, Blatter said he had asked the organization's executive committee to vote in favor of publishing the report, BBC Sport reported.

Garcia spent two years investigating corruption allegations in the bidding process, but only a 42-page summary of his report was made public by FIFA-appointed judge Hans-Joachim Eckert, the head of FIFA's Ethic's Committee's judicial chamber, last month.

Hours after the release of the summary, Garcia complained Eckert's summary was an "incomplete and innaccurate" representation of his findings. He complained, but his appeal was thrown out by FIFA on Wednesday, and Garcia resigned from his role leading the investigatory chamber of the FIFA ethics committee in protest on Thursday.

FCC Will Not Fine Broadcasters For Saying "Redskins" On The Air

Mark J. Rebilas/Usa Today Sports

In September, a petition was filed to designate the word "Redskins" as an obscene term, under the argument that the word "causes 'psychological harm, not only to Indian and non-Indian children, but also to Indian adults.'"

In today's decision, the FCC found that argument invalid, as the Supreme Court defines obscenity as language that "depicts or describes sexual conduct." It also rejected the claim that the word is profane, under citing the FCC definition as "language so grossly offensive to members of the public who actually hear it as to amount to a nuisance."

The FCC did not find the word "Redskins" to fit that definition, but did mention that the Commission tries to tread lightly on matters of "racial or religious epithets."

The Washington Redskins are currently appealing a decision by the United States Patent and Trademark office to strip their exclusive rights to the name.

The petition to remove the team trademarks to the name was filed using similar arguments as the petition filed to the FCC.

The Miami Herald reports Berejuk faces between two and three years in prison for producing performance enhancing drugs in his garage that were then sold to Anthony Bosch, the founder of Biogenesis, and Rodriguez's key provider.

Berejuk reportedly earned $20,000 a month for the performance enhancing drugs he provided to Biogenesis. In January, Rodriguez admitted his steroid use to federal agents and prosecutors. Berejuk's cooperation with authorities allows them to build their case against other parties charged in the Biogenesis scandal.

Berejuk is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 25. The Miami Herald compared his role in the case to that of Walter White, the fictional character on "Breaking Bad" who used his chemistry know-how to produce illegal substances.

SJPD public information officer Heather Randol told BuzzFeed News in an email:

On December 16, 2014 at approximately 10:43 am, the San Jose Police Department received a call from a local area hospital regarding a possible sexual assault victim who was receiving treatment. Officers responded and made contact with the adult female victim. The victim alleged she was possibly sexually assaulted a day prior. The preliminary investigation revealed the alleged suspect was Ray McDonald.

A search warrant for McDonald's home was issued Tuesday night. No arrests have been made.

Last month, domestic violence charges against McDonald were dropped because his fianceé did not mention she felt she was in physical danger during the initial 911 call.

Damian Trujillo of NBC Bay Area reports the NFL will allow McDonald to play in this week's game.

Beau Bennett Is The 15th NHL Player To Be Diagnosed With The Mumps

Players from five teams have come down with the disease.

Beau Bennett.

Gene J. Puskar / AP Photo

Bennett is now the 15th NHL player to be diagnosed with the disease this season. Earlier this week, Deadspin noted that he'd spent some time at a children's hospital. Bennett's teammate, Sidney Crosby, was diagnosed with the mumps last week.

The disease has hit multiple players on the Rangers, Ducks, Wild, and Devils.

Mumps is transmitted through saliva, which makes hockey players — who work in close proximity to each other and often make physical contact while playing — particularly susceptible. An infected person can carry the disease for two weeks before exhibiting symptoms, but they are contagious during the entire time.

Players who have contracted the disease have been vaccinated (Sidney Crosby received a booster shot in February), but once the disease enters a community, the health of all members is compromised. This theory is known as "Herd Immunity," which the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has illustrated as such:

Adrian Peterson Appeal Denied, Will Not Play In The NFL This Season

An arbitrator ruled that Peterson was not treated unfairly by the NFL.

Usa Today Sports / Reuters

Late Friday, a neutral arbitrator ruled that Adrian Peterson will not be reinstated to the league this season. Peterson will not be eligible for reinstatement until April 2015 at the earliest.

The NFL Player's Association had previously argued that Peterson was subjected to inconsistent and unfair treatment by Commissioner Roger Goodell. The arbitrator sided with the league. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com says the next step in the plan is to take Peterson's case to a federal court.

Earlier this week, the NFL announced an updated Personal Conduct Policy, which the league claims will standardize their disciplinary process.

The NFLPA expected this outcome, given the hearing officer's relationship and financial ties to the NFL. The decision itself ignores the facts, the evidence and the collective bargaining agreement. This decision also represents the NFL's repeated failure to adhere to due process and confirms its inconsistent treatment of players. Our union is considering immediate legal remedies.

In his decision, arbitrator Harold Henderson said that Peterson had not shown public remorse for his actions. He also suggested that the Commissioner Exempt List is not a form of discipline.

Last month, Ray Rice was reinstated to the league when an arbitrator ruled that he had been disciplined twice for the same incident. Henderson's language about the Commissioner's Exempt list will not allow Peterson's camp to make the same claim.

Obama Says He Spends Most Of His Morning Watching ESPN

“And sometimes when I have a real thick briefing I have to read through, I’ll have the game on with the sound off.”

Kevin Lamarque / Reuters

President Barack Obama on Friday appeared on ESPN Radio show "The Herd with Colin Cowherd," where he discussed his views on social media, the political and personal responsibilities of athletes, and the state of Chicago sports.

Immediately, Obama found an opportunity to promote healthcare.gov, which he says is now fully recovered from the problems that plagued its rollout. He also closed the program with a joke about "weekend warriors" on the basketball court, and said that at his age he needs to make sure to have great health care.

During the interview he said he supports LeBron James and Magic Johnson using their platforms to make statements about political causes they feel are important, referencing Muhammad Ali and Arthur Ashe as a precedent for athletes speaking out. He called it important for athletes to embrace that they are "citizens as well as entertainers."

Obama then transitioned to talking about the responsibility players have to their fans and to their employers with regard to personal conduct, but said we must examine how they are treated by the leagues when they do make those mistakes. He said he believes it's important to have plans in place for discipline ahead of time, then got to it and said the NFL was "behind the curve" with the Ray Rice Situation. "You don't want to be winging it."

The President said that to be effective in accessing and handling situations of player conduct the leagues must make a conscious effort to address the systematic issues that remain due to the "old boys' club" mentality. The President made it clear that businesses, in sports and otherwise, must be sure to hire and promote women and "folks of diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds because you make better decisions when you have different viewpoints."

Obama discussed his disappointment with the 5–8 Chicago Bears, but said the Bulls are looking pretty good. He says he "can't sit down and watch an entire game," but makes exceptions for Championships. He says Sportscenter gives him a "pretty good idea of what's going on," and that he watches ESPN most mornings because he can't deal with any more political chatter than he already has to hear.

Obama said that sports fans should remember that we are "all on the same team, and that's the American team."

On Wednesday, NFL owners unanimously voted for a reformed Personal Conduct Policy.

Mike Segar / Reuters

This season, the league and its policy has been under constant fire for its inconsistent handling of player discipline. The NFL Player's Association has argued that the league was inconsistent in its handling of Adrian Peterson's case. In November a neutral arbitrator ruled that Ray Rice had been punished twice for the same incident, stating that he had been upfront with Commissioner Roger Goodell in their initial meeting.

The NFL also clarifies that when a case is also being investigated by law enforcement authorities, the league will wait for the conclusion of their investigation before finalizing theirs.

In the meantime, the player who is said to have violated the league's policy will be placed on the recently revived Commissioner's Exempt List, where he will be paid until the conclusion of the NFL and/or law enforcement's investigation.
