De’Andre Johnson was arrested and charged last month after he allegedly punched a woman in the face at a bar.
Florida State University quarterback, De'Andre Johnson, was dismissed from the team Monday night, hours after this video of him punching a woman at a Tallahassee bar was released by the Florida State Attorney's Office.
In the security footage, Johnson, the 19-year-old quarterback of the Florida State Seminoles, is seen punching Abigail Husty, a 21-year-old FSU student, in the face after an altercation at Yianni's Nightclub near the FSU campus on June 24.
The video shows Husty raising her arm at Johnson when he "aggressively" pushed past her as she waited to order drinks at the bar, according to court documents. Johnson grabbed her raised arm and began pushing her. To release his grip on her, Husty raised her knee and lunged towards Johnson in at attempt to strike him with her left fist. Johnson then punched the woman on the left side of her face.
One if the witnesses heard Husty yell "no" twice at Johnson before he punched her, court documents said.
She suffered bruising under her left eye, swelling to the left cheek and upper lip and, and a small cut near the bridge of the nose.
Johnson was charged with misdemeanor battery. He turned himself in to police on June 30 and was released on $500 bond, the Tallahassee Democrat reported. On July 2, he pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge.
