Chelsea Fans Are Calling For Mourinho To Be Sacked After Woeful Form

People on Twitter are not being kind to the Chelsea manager.

But he wasn't counting on this man... to be fair none of us were counting on this man.

Steven Naismith came on as a sub after just nine minutes, replaced the injured Besic. And it wasn't long before he found the back of the net after a superb piece of skill and a cheeky one-two.

Stevie G's autobiography is being released soon, and in promotion of the new book, extracts are being serialised in the The Daily Mail.

This particular extract is difficult to read:

"The magic of the FA Cup was bloodied on the day my penis was cut and then stitched shut on an unromantic afternoon in Bournemouth last year."

OK, that's enough information, Stevie, thanks.

Oh no, wait. It doesn't end there.

Oh no, wait. It doesn't end there.

"It was eye-watering. I tried to close down a winger to block his cross but felt a stinging in my privates. I thought, 'Shit — that doesn't feel right!' It was stinging like fuck."

Cool. Well that's enough about that then, Steven.

Nope, nope. It doesn't even end there...

"The gash looked pretty bad, right across the middle. There was plenty of blood. I needed four stitches and the lads were absolutely pissing themselves."

Just A Friendly Reminder Serena Williams Is Still The Most Important Tennis Player In The History Of The Game

In case you forgot.

For asking, "Are you looking at my titles?":

For asking, "Are you looking at my titles?":

In 2009, Williams was ranked No. 3 in the world, despite having won 11 Grand Slams to top-ranked Dinara Safina's zero. Williams' shirt was an unsubtle dig at the arbitrary foolishness of the WTA's ranking system.

In 2001, a teenage Serena was booed relentlessly during her Indian Wells victory match over Kim Clijsters. She vowed never to return, but in 2015 she wrote in an article for Time, "Thirteen years and a lifetime in tennis later, things feel different. A few months ago, when Russian official Shamil Tarpischev made racist and sexist remarks about Venus and me, the WTA and USTA immediately condemned him. It reminded me how far the sport has come, and how far I've come too."

NYPD Video Showing Officer Tackling Former Tennis Star James Blake

On Wednesday, Blake was tackled and handcuffed after being mistaken for a credit card fraud suspect. NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton personally apologized on Thursday.

The New York Police Department released video on Thursday of former tennis star James Blake being tackled by a plainclothes detective outside of a Manhattan hotel:

On Wednesday, Blake was misidentified by a police informant during an NYPD sting to crack down on people using fraudulent credit cards. While standing outside the Grand Hyatt hotel in midtown Manhattan, waiting for a car to go to the US Open, the detective sprinted at Blake, grabbed, him, pushed him against a column, then tackled him to the ground.

At no point does Blake appear to resist.

The above video shows that the detective grabbed Blake to throw him to the ground as soon as he approached him. In comments to the New York Daily News, Blake said he saw the man running at him, but thought he might have been an old friend from Harvard.

Blake was held on the ground in handcuffs for approximately fifteen minutes before being let go upon showing his ID and US Open credentials.

NYPD opened an investigation into the incident immediately, and on Thursday it was announced that the initial officer who threw Blake to the ground was stripped of his gun and placed on desk duty. The NYPD officer's union opposed the quick move to modify the detective's assignment.

During a press conference Thursday, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton said "the use of force was such that I'm comfortable that it's in the best interest of the department to place the officer on modified assignment as the investigation moves forward."

Thursday afternoon he reached the former tennis player by phone to personally apologize for the mistaken detainment.

NYPD said in a statement that the surveillance video had been provided to Blake's attorney and that the internal investigation is ongoing.

Roberta Vinci Wins Hearts After Upsetting Serena Williams At U.S. Open

“Sorry, everyone.”

"Serena is an incredible player, so this is the best moment of my life," Vinci said in a match interview on the court.

Vinci, playing in her first Grand Slam semifinal, won the match 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, ending Williams' highly touted effort to become the first player since Steffi Graf in 1988 to win a calendar year Grand Slam.

To that, Vinci had, of all things, an endearing apology: "Sorry everyone."

Vinci went on, in between rounds of growing applause from the stands, to acknowledge the collective let-down Williams fans were surely feeling in the moment of what she felt was her own greatest professional achievement.

"For the American people, for Serena, for the Grand Slam and everything — but today is my day," she said. "Sorry, guys."

During the match, Vinci had even appealed to the crowd to not count her out as an underdog without a chance.

Asked what her strategy was against Williams, Vinci said it was all about "my fight, my game."

"My mind say, 'Put the balls in the court…don't think about the Serena on the other court,'" Vinci said.

And that she did, no matter how hard Williams tried to change up her strategy against the unrelenting Italian with swift, sharp moves.
